I’m already plotting how I can get down to South Africa for the World Cup next summer…and I know I’m not alone. Just this past weekend there were talks among my friends who’ve already got tickets! So I began drooling and then visiting my friend Google to learn more. Apparently you could apply to get tickets as early as February. If you’re interested you can click here to access the FIFA portal for tickets. This site has everything you need to know whether its the type of tickets available to the schedule of matches. Although at the time of writing this, the website to apply for the tickets wasn’t working for me…so let me know if you have better luck!
Alas, my plotting doesn’t stop at the tickets, one must also consider volunteering for the World Cup – it did open up the most amazing summer of my life when I volunteered at the Beijing Olympics! Applications for volunteers just opened up last Monday! While the majority of the 15,000 positions are reserved for Africans, there are some slots for international volunteers. Don’t put this off too long if you’re considering this route, because the applications close on August 31. Click here to apply to be a volunteer at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa!
